That perfectly describes my falling in love with Murano glass. My beloved wife, Andrea, once gave me a Sommerso-vase as a birthday present.

Loving beautiful things, I was stunned about the fact that one little vase shining in sunlight could bring a new atmosphere even to a big room. 

​

Collecting for my lifetime, I began to look for other pieces of the same or a similar style and the same period. Fortunately, I found a lot of information in books and auction catalogues. 

​

I got in touch with more and less famous furnaces and and a lot of fakes. It's not easy for a new collector to spot the difference between authentic pieces and fakes. 

​

So, I had to change my strategy to buying only from well known auction houses with established expertise in Europe and well-known private collections. 

Buying only quality and not names. 

​

That's how it's going on, the collection is growing continuously and as Bianconi said I ...

"will not be able to let it go".
